Meet the Founder

Meet Dr Brittnee Leysen, Founder and Head Groomer at PURR.

I’m an exclusively feline groomer, a former academic and UNESCO researcher, and the founder of PURR Glasgow — Scotland’s first cat-exclusive grooming salon.

PURR began with Raglan, my own Chinchilla Persian. His coat needed constant, careful attention, and it made one thing obvious: cats deserve grooming built entirely around them, not squeezed in alongside dogs. I started out as a mobile service in 2024 and now work from a dedicated salon in Morris Park, Glasgow.

Everything here is designed around the cat. We groom one cat at a time, in a quiet, dog-free room, using Scotland’s first DryVac system for gentle, low-stress bathing and drying. Whether it’s a brush-out, a full Lion Cut, or extra patience for an anxious or elderly cat, welfare comes before appearance every time.

Having now groomed thousands of cats, I was named a finalist in the 2025 and 2026 Great British Entrepreneur Awards, and the SeedLegals Start-Up Awards 2026.
